What a great time was had by all at our main Christmas fund raising concert at Immanuel Southbourne.
The audience were treated to festive songs, carols and readings in aid of our charity: Spear Bournemouth.
Our choir was the biggest group since we started many years ago, as we have welcomed many new members in to our singing ranks. We sang a wide variety of Christmas songs and carols. accompanied by the wonderful Ewa on the piano.
We welcomed a broad cross section of friends of Wessex Chorus in our large audience - a great turnout on such a drizzly winter's night.
A welcome cup of tea and cake warmed us all in the interval, yummy and very popular. Thank you to all our enthusiastic supporting choir helpers who served a significant number of refreshments, with home made cakes and biscuits. A big thank you also to those who helped behind the scenes and on the door, and a special thank you to our tombola organiser - a sell out success - this raised much needed funds for the choir to buy new music.
Ticket sales raised £400 for our charity, Spear, and an impromptu collection for Spear raised a further £70. Such generosity!
Well done everyone for making it such a special evening.
