Wessex Chorus singing at the Moordown Dementia Centre.
A group from Wessex Choir spent the afternoon at Tricuro's Moordown Plus - a day centre for those with Dementia, in Moordown, Bournemouth.
As part of Dementia action week we spent time at the centre and sang for the clients. They loved listening, dancing and singing to our music, and really enjoyed it. The smiles were intoxicating, as were the tears and sounds of laughter. Dementia week started on Monday 13th May and we arrived at lunch time on Friday 17th May at 1pm and spent the afternoon singing for Joy! What a wonderful afternoon, with a packed house enjoying all our fun songs.
We hope that this will be the start of a lovely singing relationship to give hope and see the clients and the choir thoroughly enjoying themselves.
We were also able to give a little more on that day, by presenting a cheque for £200 from monies raised at our Christmas Concerts in 2023.
