Saturday 2nd December - 6.30 - 9.00
Bournemouth Blind Society Charity Christmas Concert.
A magnificent evening!
Audience and choir arrived in very difficult weather, it was a real ‘pea souper’ and cold and damp with it. But the show carried on, even covid and colds and flu didn’t stop us having a really festive fun packed evening provided by Wessex Chorus Community Choir.
It was a real Christmas treat with all our good friends at the Bournemouth Blind Society. There were many new arrangements of Christmas Carols and festive songs sung with great gusto and believe me, if you want to feel Christmassy, this is the way to do it. The full choir was accompanied by our loyal friend and accompanist, Ewa Irek.
One audience member quoted “the event was very informal which we liked and some Carols we sang, others the Choir sang and we were encouraged to clap and whoop at the appropriate times. We loved it and we will certainly return next year.”
At the interval we were treated to festive refreshments - mince pies and hot drinks, after which our magnificent raffle was held in aid of choir funds. There was even a collection box in aid of our four nominated charities and everyone was so generous.
Even with a reduced audience the BBS raised £640 for their much needed funds!
A BIG THANK YOU for all you support of Wessex Chorus and the Bournemouth Blind Society.
